History
Back in March of 1988, Phil Mason and David De Caire were sitting in
their 400 Sq, Ft. office on the East Mall, near Midcontinent Truck
Terminal, when a fax arrived to change their lives. The fax was from
Revenue Canada announcing the approval of a broker’s license to
Traders Customs Brokerage Ltd.
The name Traders had been chosen to acknowledge the reason that we
have Customs today. Customs was first implemented to protect the fur
TRADERS.Based on a theory that through hard work, both Phil and Dave were
confident they would develop a valued client base, they could service
to their client’s satisfaction. They chose the East Mall location to
position themselves strategically between the ports of Toronto
Downtown, Dixie (Interport), and the Airport at Pearson. As the client
base grew it became obvious that the mentality of inland clearance was
no longer the norm, with more and more clearances taking place at the
frontier ports. Traders jumped at the chance to test and be accepted for CADEX. Since
1992 we have enjoyed the ability to transmit our entries in this
fashion. When Customs unveiled the ACROSS program, we again saw an
opportunity to provide improved service for all our clients from coast
to coast. |
